Respect. Teamwork. Entrepreneurial.
What is one question you think candidates should be prepared to answer in an interview?
Candidates should be prepared to give a thoughtful, non-generic answer to why they want to work at a particular firm, based on their research and (if applicable) previous interactions with the firm.
Does your firm offer a rotation? If so, what does it look like for summer students and articling students?
During the summer, we do not offer a formal rotation program and students may be assigned and seek out work from all practice areas. If students have a specific area of interest, we make every effort for them to work in that area of law. During articles, the program is divided into a solicitors rotation and a litigation rotation, servicing a variety of practice areas within each general rotation. Students work directly with partners and associates on client matters and are encouraged to seek work from lawyers who practice in areas of interest to the student.
What is one piece of advice you would give to a 1l?

This mindful approach, in combination with focus, drive and hard work, will ensure an enjoyable and successful law school experience.
